Because it makes people feel better thinking that others may actually care about their ideas when they really don't.

How long has the community wanted a hair dresser and NEVER got it? This is a perfect example of why your ideas are worthless.

It bugs the living hell out of me when I see a thread for a great idea with nothing but hundreds of /sign's and /agree's and the like, yet ANet do nothing about them and they don't even pay any attention to those threads. All this crap of "ANet's working on GW2 leave them to it" and "GW is dead, wait for GW2" is BS too. The BETA isn't even until next year, they're still miles away from the final product, so they have plenty of time to do at least some of the smaller more useful updates to GW1.

If we don't post our ideas, there's zero chance A-net will listen.

Plus, it's fun and it kills time while waiting for GW2.
